In the reply from this Office of the (14th ultimo /
you were informed that Lord Lansdowne concurred in
that proposal.
In view however of the opinion expressed by Sir
E. Satow in the enclosed despatch His Lordship now
proposes with the concurrence of Mr. Secretary Lyttel
ton to agree with the suggestion that no further
steps should be taken in the matter.
